Song Hyea-Suk

Abstract
Objectives:The purpose of the study is to examine the mortality rate of each disease through 12 years of cohort study of malignant cancer, cerebrovascular disease, and cardiovascular disease, which are the three major causes of death in Korea.

Methods: The research method was based on the customized DB data of the National Health Insurance Corporation. As of 2004, patients diagnosed with malignant cancer, cerebrovascular disease, and cardiovascular disease were followed for 12 years until 2016. The target disease was treated with malignant cancer (C00-C97, D45-D47), cerebrovascular disease (I60-I64), and cardiovascular disease (I21-I23), and the most common disease in duplicate disease.

Results:As of 2004, the number of malignant cancers occurred in 134,157 people (71,727 males, 62,430 women), cerebrovascular disease in total 105,340 people (52,716 males, 52,624 women), and cardiovascular disease in 18,515 people (11,785 males, 6,730 women) It was.,As of 2016, 12 years later, the average death rate was 68,693 malignant cancer patients (44,357 males, 24,336 females), 52,187 cerebrovascular diseases (27,029 males, 25,158 females), and 8,916 cardiovascular disease (4,968 males, 3,948 females).

Conclusion: In this study, the average number of days of hospitalization for other severe diseases is more than 20 days, and the burden rate of medical expenses is 20% higher than 10% of other diseases. This is 80% of the health insurance coverage rate, which is lower than 90% of cancer and cardiovascular disease, which is the same as the health insurance coverage rate of general patients who are not seriously illness. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the protection of the national health insurance for the cerebrovascular disease patients, and to study the policy more specifically for the prevention of the household breakdown due to financial difficulties and the mitigation policy that can escape from the economic risk.
